Frequently Asked Questions
We understand that visiting the dentist can come with a lot of questions, whether it’s about routine care, treatment options, or what to expect during your visit. That’s why we’ve put together answers to some of the most common questions we hear from our patients. If you don’t see your question listed here, feel free to contact our office—our team is always happy to help!
Contact UsHow often should I schedule routine dental check-ups?
We recommend visiting our office at least once every six months for a routine dental exam and cleaning. These visits allow us to catch small problems early and keep your teeth and gums in great shape. Some patients with specific conditions may need more frequent visits. Of course, we’ll let you know what’s best for your needs.
What are the signs of gum disease?
Common signs include red, swollen, or bleeding gums, persistent bad breath, and gums that pull away from your teeth. You may also notice tooth sensitivity or loose teeth in more advanced stages. If you notice any of these symptoms, we recommend scheduling a dental exam right away so we can evaluate your gum health.
What should I do if I grind my teeth?
If you grind your teeth, especially at night, we may recommend a custom nightguard to protect your smile. Grinding can wear down your teeth, cause jaw pain, and even lead to fractures if left untreated. During your visit, we’ll check for signs of grinding and help you determine if a custom nightguard is right for you.
Does my dental insurance cover my procedure?
Insurance coverage can vary based on your provider and the type of procedure. We’re happy to review your benefits and give you a detailed estimate before any treatment begins. Our team can also help you understand your options and answer any questions you have about payment or coverage. For more information, please visit our financial page.
Do you provide dental sedation?
Our practice offers nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, to help patients feel more relaxed and comfortable during treatment. It’s a safe, mild form of sedation that wears off quickly, so you can drive yourself home afterward. Sedation is a great option if you have dental anxiety or are nervous about your visit.
What if I don’t know what services I need?
No problem! We’ll start with a thorough exam and discuss any concerns or goals you may have. From there, we’ll create a personalized treatment plan to help you achieve a healthy, confident smile—whether it’s basic care or more advanced treatment.
Can I make a same-day appointment?
We do our best to offer same-day appointments when availability allows. If you’re experiencing a dental emergency or need to be seen quickly, give us a call as early in the day as possible. Our team will do everything we can to fit you in and get you the care you need!
